In the produce department this time of year - mid/late June - we are inundated with zucchini, squash, salad greens, cooking greens, spring onions, kohlrabi, Asian greens, raspberries and blueberries, broccoli, cabbage, napa cabbage, fennel, basil, cilantro and more. (With tomatoes, beans and corn on the way!).
Also, I am always excited to see what the bakers, cheese makers, fishermen, knitters, soap makers and plant nurseries have for sale each week!
The Buy Haywood project, a nonprofit that promotes local produce and products, puts out a Farm Map each year with a listing of local farms, farmers' markets and visitor information centers.
